Driving around Costa Rica

We recommend a jeep throughout the year as the roads, although getting better, still need a long way to go. Insurance is mandatory ($17 / day) and there is a deductible of $1,500 meaning that the passenger is liable up to that amount before the insurance takes over. The client may use a credit card to pay for the insurance and for the deposit. Please note that Visa Gold and American Express do not cover when driving "off roads" and Costa Rica is considered off roads.
